Device-ALab to introduce full TEC-less SWIR camera core

By 6th February 2020Products

Grenoble, France – 06 February 2020 (for immediate release)

Device-ALab, Europe-based specialist of low noise infrared cores, today released at SPIE PHOTONICS WEST 2020 show, its new IrqLA640™, a VGA uncooled SWIR camera core capable of 178 frames per second in full resolution.
IrqLA640 implements in full TEC-less mode the 640×512 15 μm SWIR detector Snake by LYNRED, delivering excellent performance with Read Out Floor Noise lower than 30 electrons. “Our team once more developed electronics which delivers outstanding high dynamic images in an optimal footprint”, commented Daravan Ly, CEO. Thanks to our know-how, the embedded algorithm makes dark noise to remain constant despite operating temperature increase”
DEVICE-ALAB came to this development per the request of many of their clients to have a SWaP uncooled SWIR in complement to the existing LWIR range. Indeed, IrqLA™ has many features in common with existing SmartIR and IrLugX™ LWIR products. Today released as a USB module (for host-based processing implementation), IrqLA™ will in the close future also be proposed as engine core (with embedded processing) with various interfaces, ensuring an easy swap between LWIR and SWIR.
Typical market segments will be in security, defense, but also multispectral systems for commercial applications such as machine vision on-line and off-line inspection.
IrqLA640™, capable of up to 30 000 frames per second (via Region of Interest) comes with a SDK (Software Development Kit) and a GUI (Graphic User Interface) and with a standard C-mount enabling to couple with off-the-shelf SWIR optics. It is now available for shipment.
Beyond its SWaP, versatility and image performances, this camera core is made in Europe. This means simplified export procedures for all equipment makers and integrators operating such Dual-Use Goods in European Union and so-called Friend Countries. DEVICE-ALAB is to demonstrate the IrqLA640™ during the SPIE PHOTONICS WEST 2020 show on its booth # 857J.
