DETECTOR KEY FEATURES

The detector is really a fundamental in your vision system, whatever the modality. It makes sense to consider at least the four following items to  “translate” your need into detector and camera specifications.
Device-ALab can assist your team to select the most relevant options for your specific use case.

RESOLUTION

Number of sensitive elements of the array:
from low (80×80 pixels) to high (Megapixels)

NETD

Smallest temperature difference you will discriminate:
from 100+ mK down to 30 mK

FRAME RATE

Number of images captured per second:
≤ 9 Hz (without export licence) up to 120 Hz

PIXEL PITCH

Distance between center of two neighboring pixels, to correlate with optics: either 12, 17 or 34 µm

ENGINE CORE PROXY MODULE

PROXY MODULE – SUITABLE TO HOST DEVICE PROCESSING

The proxy module – USB or CSI – can be turned into a System-on-Module, integrated in your network.

Alternatively, it is the perfect candidate to evaluate various configurations or benchmark various detectors.

ENGINE CORE – SUITABLE TO EMBEDDED PROCESSING VISION SYSTEMS

Enables processing such as bad pixel replacement, NUC, AGC, temperature coloration, and format the data the way you need, e.g. direct input to the display of an handheld camera the one of night googles

3

DATA INTERFACE

We offer multiple options either analog (PAL/NTSC) or digital (DF40, HD-SDI, USB, CameraLink).
Remember alternate interfaces are available on request

SOFTWARE (INCL. SDK)

We ensure smooth implementation and integration

GUI – GRAPHIC USER INTERFACE

Intuitive user-friendly tool to optimally configure the camera setting points and grab images on your host

Intuitive user-friendly tool for camera configuration.

Windows 7 – Windows 10

SDK – SW DEVELOPMENT KIT

For calibration and image processing. Compatible with any x86, x64 or ARM host device featuring 32/64 bits version of following OS:
Windows 7 or higher – Linux for PC – Linux ARM processor architecture (open path to Android)

Windows 7 – Windows 10 – Android – Linux

SHUTTER & CALIBRATION

To manage operating temperature drift, you may choose to operate:

IN SHUTTERLESS MODE

With factory calibration plus a powerful shutterless embedded algorithm,  Device-ALab modules feature outstanding low noise low flicker images… without mechanical shutter !
The typical operating temperature point may be adapted to your specification

IN SHUTTER MODE

In operation, either periodically or manually, you re-calibrate the camera by observing a black body. Depending on your system settings, you may use Device-ALab mechanical shutter, your own shutter or any other relevant homogeneous body to look at in the scene.

6

OPTICS

Optics is as critical as the module itself, to ensure you get the system performance you expect.

ASSISTANCE

Device-ALab experts can assist you from the beginning to specify your exact need to further select, and even design, the suitable optics.

We start from your own use case, e.g. performances respectively required for detection, recognition and/or identification, to further “translate” them into optics specifications (namely aperture, FOV, MTF, …) together with the detector features (i.e. resolution and pitch)

SUPPLY

Once the optical configuration is locked, you may either supply the lens from a third party apart from the module, or supply from Device-ALab a complete camera core: module calibrated with lens holder and optics.

As specialists of low noise SWaP modules, we coop with several lens vendors to ensure our clients the optimal fit in term of performance, price and lead time. Do not hesitate to contact us.

MECHANICAL INTERFACE

As your application is specific, Device-ALab offers you flexibility to configure your camera core:
